After sales to more than 40 territories, including deals with Fox LATAM, and producers in Russia and China, the show will be the first ever Argentinian daily to be adapted for the German audience

Dori Media Group (“DMG”, “the Company”) announces that it has sold a full season of hit comedy “Date Blind (Ciega a Citas)” to German production company UFA SERIAL DRAMA, which is part of FremantleMedia. The local format titled “Mila” will be produced with SAT.1, one of Germany’s most important free TV channels, and will be aired daily on SAT.1 later this year.

UFA SERIAL DRAMA is the leading German series producer that adapted “Ugly Betty” for the German market. The Mila cast comprises Germany’s best acting talent, with Susan Sideropoulos playing the lead role.

The Ciega a Citas” format, winner of the prestigious Martín Fierro and Rose d’Or awards, has become a significant international hit, having recently been sold to Poland and to Russia, where it will soon go on air on the Russia 1 channel. It has also proved to be hugely popular in the Spanish-speaking world, with the Spanish version of the show increasing its time slot’s rating on Mediaset España’s Cuatro channel by 40%. “Soltera otra Vez”, the local Chilean adaptation, has also achieved excellent ratings, becoming the number one show in its time slot with ratings of 26.8%, more than double its nearest competitor. At 37.2%, “Soltera otra Vez” also has a significantly higher audience share than its competing shows.

“Ciega a Citas” tells the story of Lucía, a woman who overhears her mother making a bet with her younger sister that she won’t be able to bring a real boyfriend to her sister’s wedding. Lucía sets out to find a genuine loving boyfriend, knowing all too well that she has only 258 days at her disposal until her sister’s wedding day. “Ciega a Citas” is a co-produced by Dori Media and Rosstoc.

Nadav Palti, CEO & President of Dori Media Group commented: “This deal marks DMG’s latest German sale, following on from the sales of “Smart Face – Lo Sabe, No Lo Sabe” and “Power Couple” last year. “Ciega a Citas” is the first Argentinian daily format to be adapted for the German audience, and we are confident that the success the show has already achieved in Spanish speaking nations will be replicated in Germany. We hope to grow the presence of DMG formats on the German market and to expand sales of “Ciega a Citas” across Europe and beyond.”
