New titles “AHA! Experience”, an innovative game show, the telenovela “Enigma”, unique dating shows “Taste of Love” and “Pick Up Bus”, along with a fresh candid camera talent show “Win the Crowd”, the travel game show “The Perfect Vacation” and the quality comedy “Shtisel” will all be showcased at the event

Dori Media Group (“DMG”, “the Company”), the international media company active in the field of television, with a focus on production, distribution, broadcasting and merchandising of daily dramas, Telenovela and entertainment shows, announces that the Company will present new shows AHA! Experience”, “Taste of Love“, “Enigma”, “Pick Up Bus”, “Win the Crowd”, “The Perfect Vacation” and “Shtiselat the National Associates of Television Program Executives (NATPE) 2014. NATPE is the most important international “must-attend” multiplatform video marketplace and will be held in Miami on January 27th – 30th, 2014.

AHA! Experience”, an adaptation of a Nippon TV Japan show, which has been successfully running for 9 years, is a new entertainment quiz show by top creator Ami Glam and produced by Dori Media Darset. In the show, six contestants use their power of perception, and not their knowledge, to compete for a cash prize. Taste of Loveis another innovative format that will be featured at NAPTE 2014. This prime-time dating show, produced by Lotus for Channel 10, uses contestants’ passion for food in their search for love.

Additional new shows that Dori Media will present at NAPTE 2014 include:

  • Enigma” – a telenovela that centres on the trials and tribulations of a comic strip artist, who’s in love with a girl that is a figment of his imagination. The show is produced by Dori Media Darsat for Viva Channel on Yes;
  • Pick Up Bus” – a new dating show where contestants look for the perfect date on a bus ride, produced by Studio Glam;
  • Win the Crowd” – a fresh candid camera talent show that takes place in the street with no audience, no votes & no judges. The street is the stage and all they have to do is to win the crowd’s approval, produced by Studio Glam;
  • A Perfect Vacation – a travel game show that combines television and the internet, produced by Omer TV & Erez Dan and was aired on Channel 2’s Reshet;
  • Shtisel” – a family comedy about an ultra-religious family living in Jerusalem’s Mea Shearim neighbourhood. The show is produced by Jonathan Aroch and Dikla Barkai for Yes and is distributed worldwide by Dori Media.

These new formats will be accompanied by the game showsSmart Face”, which has already been sold in over 30 countries, and Duel Games”, which was recently sold to Spain, Portugal, Brazil and Argentina. The comedies Little Mom and Magic Malabi Expressand the crime drama New York”, which have all recently been sold to the US, will also appear at NAPTE 2014, along with and teen series Galis”. The third seasons of both New Yorkand Galis are currently in production.

Dori Media Exhibits at the National Associates of Television Program Executives (NATPE) 2014:

AHA! Experience is an entertainment quiz show that wants to find out not what you know but what you see. This unique program will check your powers of perception. Visuals are universal; no matter what language you speak, it’s all right there in front of your eyes. The AHA experience is a sudden inspiration that occurs when things never noticed are detected. Twelve competitors from very different backgrounds, compete for the title- the AHA! King, and a cash prize.

“Taste of Love” is a prime time studio show that combines two of the greatest human passions: the passion for good food and the passion for love. 6 bachelors and 6 bachelorettes, who love good food and are looking for love, take part in a cooking competition. Those who can cook their way to the finals will get a special opportunity to find love. In the event of a mutual match – the winning couple will win a magical and amazing one-week culinary journey. Will their taste in food match their taste in love?

“Enigma” is a new daily drama which centres on the trials and tribulations of a comic strip artist, Adam Hexter, whose creative work is vital for his family business. Whilst going through a creative block, the family business suffers. When the enigmatic Sophie enters his life, Adam finally starts creating again, but his love for Sophie threatens to cause a mysterious figure from their past to reemerge. Sophie, however, is a figment of Adam’s imagination, but it is this loss of sanity that is enabling the family business to flourish once again. Upon discovering that Sophie is in fact a hallucination, Adam is heartbroken, but he still suspects that Sophie somewhere, somehow, actually does exist. He eventually realises that the origin of his hallucinations is in fact a real girl, his childhood sweetheart, part of a dark secret his family has been hiding from him. He sets out to reunite with his long lost love and show the world that love can overcome even the boundaries between reality and fantasy.

Win the Crowd“ – When the street is your stage, all you need to do is to Win the Crowd: a new talent show that takes place in the street with no audience, no votes & no judges. The street is the stage and all they have to do is to win the crowd. Artists of different art forms are invited to perform on a busy corner, covered by hidden cameras. Every performer has 7 minutes to attract as many viewers as possible. For every person that stops to watch they score 1 point. The performer who has the largest audience will win $10,000.

“Pick Up Bus” is a new and different dating game that take place on a special bus featuring a bachelor or a bachelorette looking for the perfect date. 3 potential dates will be picked up for a wild ride where they will participate in humorous assignments trying to leave a good first impression. Our pick up bus will make 3 stops along the ride. On each stop one of the candidates will be dropped off. The remaining couple will have the chance to get to know each other a little better before deciding whether to continue to a date or to ditch the partner, and start a new ride.

“The Perfect Vacation” format combines two worlds: television and internet, and creates an “intervision” show that gives the viewer a sense that everything is happening in real-time. The show is created via a unique mechanism and is based entirely on social media that has a significance and critical role in most of our everyday lives and is an outstanding source of research and “mouth-to-ear” information. It is therefore, about time that we take advantage of social media to create a travel show. The host will receive on-line suggestions and recommendations for the perfect vacation.

“Shtisel” is a delicious gentle comedy which follows a shy yeshiva boy and his closely-knit, argumentative family. He meets an older widow just as the family is trying to marry him off, while his widowed father has a little fling of his own. The lives of the extended Shtisel family, a warm and broken Haredi family, integrated in the big and desperate love story. Forget everything you thought you knew about the Haredi life, and prepare to be charmed.

“Little Mom” is a prime time feminine comedy that reveals the harsh truth of life after having kids…It’s like… someone has turned on the lights at the end of prom night – No more thongs and little black dresses; those days are long gone, replaced by sweat pants and cardboard flavored “snacks”. By all accounts the glitz and glamour of the 20s are over. Cellulite thighs and a life in the suburbs is all they have to show for themselves. The first season consisted of 13 episodes and the second season is currently in production.

“Duel Games” is a game show which brings task-based dueling to the streets. The host goes to a street with a cart full of games covering a range of topics. A random contestant starts the game by choosing a person they’d like to duel with, but this chosen competitor gets to select the subject of the duel. In order to win the prize, a player must beat two players in two separate duels. The winner can then choose to leave with their earnings or double the amount by breaking their own record.

“Galis” is a teen TV series, containing 116 30-minute episodes. “Galis” tells a story of three foster home kids who are to join an elite summer camp in a faraway forest after a mysterious donation has been received. As they try to fit in with snobbish kids, they discover it was not luck that brought them there but a sophisticated scheme that leads to a larger than life adventure. Their incredible search for a magical, mythological treasure brings them to find their true destiny and place in the world which will change their lives forever. “Galis” was originally produced by Dori Media Darset for Noga Communications, who broadcast the show on ‘The kids channel’, which is available on the HOT’s cable platform service. The show became an instant success and won three awards at the Kids Oscar in Israel, including Best Series.

 “Magic Malabi Express” is a crazy road trip comedy that takes place in Brazil and tells the story of 3 Israeli friends who, in order to make a living, open a stall and sell Malabi (an Israeli dessert). By accident, when preparing it, they use a wrong ingredient which gets all the locals high and brings customers from many countries. Will the gold mine last?

“New York” is a daily crime drama with a colourful and complex plot. The son of the head of a notorious crime family arrives in New York, escaping his past and seeking a new future. He rejects the subservience of badly exploited foreign workers and is determined to change it. In doing so, he will find his true destiny. “New York” was produced by Dori Media Darset for Israel’s DBS television provider ‘YES’. “New York” has been the most watched drama of all time on the ‘YES’ channel and has increased total viewing of the channel by 35%. “New York” has also won the Accolade Competition for “Excellence Drama Program/Series 2012”.
