Series Inspired by Dual Terror Attacks on Argentina’s Israeli & Jewish Community Debuts on Reshet 13 This Week

Star-Studded Premiere Event Attracts Leaders & Diplomats from Across Latin America

Dori Media Group’s action drama AMIA is set to launch this week in Israel after attracting diplomats and leaders from across the Latin world, including Argentina’s Ambassador in Israel, to its star-studded Tel Aviv premiere.

The 8-episode series, which stars Michael Aloni and Malena Sanchez, was inspired by the 1990’s terror attacks on the Israeli Embassy and against the Argentinian Jewish community. AMIA, which is produced by Dori Media and Yair Dori and distributed by Dori Media, will make its worldwide debut on Thursday, February 13 on Israel’s Reshet 13.

And this past Sunday, Dori Media and Reshet 13 kicked off the show’s launch with a premiere event in Israel that was attended by the show’s talent, producers and the Israeli ambassadors from Argentina, Peru, El Salvador, Paraguay, as well as the Chilean Consul.

The event was also attended by representatives of the Argentine community in Israel, officials who served during the attacks, and survivors. Prior to the screening of the first episode, the Argentine Ambassador to Israel (Axel Shimon Wahnish) expressed gratitude for Israel’s ongoing dialogue about the attacks that left an indelible scar on all Argentinians.

AMIA was inspired by true events and filmed in Uruguay and Argentina with a cast and crew combining Israeli and South American talent. AMIA is based on an original idea from Dori Media CEO Nadav Palti and Yair Dori, created by Givon Snir and Shuki Gur and directed by Guillermo Rocamora.

“About four years ago, during a routine conversation with Yair Dori, where we often discuss future ideas, the important yet untold story of the AMIA bombing came up,” said Palti at AMIA’s premiere event. “Until 9/11, it was the largest civilian terror attack in the Americas. We agreed it was essential for us to tell this story. But unlike most productions, we began without a broadcaster. Our deep belief in the project and the importance of this story—which had not yet been addressed in a TV series—was so strong that we decided to move full speed ahead.”

Palti continued, “Like every major production, especially on such a sensitive topic, we faced many challenges along the way. But these challenges only strengthened us, sharpened us, and made us more professional, highlighting just how important it was for us to tell this story. Along the way, investors joined us, and I want to thank them from the bottom of my heart. And I want to thank Reshet 13 once again for recognizing the potential.

Emiliano Calemzuk, CEO of Reshet 13 and an Argentine native, shared his personal connection to the events, having personally witnessed the attack on the Israeli Embassy in Argentina. He revealed that his grandfather had been on route to the AMIA building minutes before the bombing.

In 1992, a devastating explosion at the Israeli Embassy in Buenos Aires claimed 29 lives and two years later, the city was rocked again when another attack struck the Jewish Community Center AMIA (Asociación Mutual Israelita Argentina), killing 85 more people. The series follows those determined to expose the truth, as they repeatedly clash with powerful forces working to bury it forever.

AMIA, which was filmed in Uruguay and Argentina, follows a Mossad agent (Aloni) whose sister was killed in the attack on the Embassy in 1992 and teams up with a local Argentinian journalist (Sánchez) to find those responsible. Their investigation reveals a shadowy world where spies, arms dealers, terrorist organizations, and heads of state create a reality where black becomes white, lies become truth, and beneath every conspiracy lies another.

Earlier this month, Dori Media announced it was bringing the unique new horror comedy series Soul Sucker out to the international TV marketplace. Soul Sucker, which is set to launch on HOT (Israel) later this year, is created, written and stars Bat Hen Sabag, who was behind the award-winning Israeli series Dumb (which was remade in Germany as Rampensau with other local adaptions expected to launch later this year). The series is co-created and directed by Daphna Levin, who created, directed and served as Executive Producer on Euphoria and co-writer on In Treatment. Aharon Keshales is the script editor of the series.

Dori Media will be hosting a premiere global screening of Soul Sucker (8 episodes) at MIP London on Tuesday, February 25, with Sabag, Levin and Keshales on-hand for a moderated Q&A and meet & greet.

Genre-Busting Series from Creator and Star of Hit Drama Dumb Now Available Globally

Dori Media Hosting Screening at MIP London Feb 25th

February 05, 2025 – Dori Media Group (DMG), the studio behind such hits as Losing Alice, Lalola, Rebelde, The New Black, Ciega a Citas and Dumb, is bringing the unique new horror comedy series Soul Sucker out to the international TV marketplace, it was announced today by Nadav Palti, CEO & President of Dori Media Group.

Soul Sucker, which is set to launch on HOT (Israel) later this year, is created, written and stars Bat Hen Sabag, who was behind the award-winning Israeli series Dumb (which was recently remade in Germany as Rampensau with other local adaptions expected to launch later this year). The series is co-created and directed by Daphna Levin, who created, directed and served as Executive Producer on Euphoria and co-writer on In Treatment.

Dori Media will be hosting a premiere global screening of Soul Sucker (8 episodes) at MIP London on Tuesday, February 25, with Sabag and Levin on-hand for a moderated Q&A and meet & greet.

Soul Sucker is a family drama, a horror comedy and detective mystery all-in-one 8-episode series that has a pinch of gypsy folklore. It is a modern fairytale about witches and curses among mothers and daughters and is inspired by Sabag’s life and follows three generations of an oppressive matriarchal family (grandmother, mother and daughter). Soul Sucker deals with the emotional scars passed down by mothers, all the while maintaining a sense of humor and a very quirky tone.

Soul Sucker is unlike any other series we’ve taken out to the international marketplace, it is a comedy, a detective mystery, a family drama and a horror series all wrapped together in a program that you simply cannot take your eyes off,” says Dori’s Palti. “Soul Sucker is created by and stars Bat Hen Sabag, whose unique vision made Dumb a breakout global hit and co-created by Daphna Levin, who created, directed and produced Euphoria. So, we’re very confident that this truly unique new series will be received in a similar fashion by audiences around the world, too.”

Earlier this year, Dori Media announced its hit unscripted format “Power Couple” has been sold and renewed in numerous global territories, including Brazil, Germany and India.

Power Couple, which was created by Abot Hameiri, continues to take the world by storm, with original versions of the unscripted relationship series now in more than 20 territories globally, with more than 60 seasons and over 900 episodes produced.

And recently at MIPCOM, Dori Media unveiled a bounty of new unscripted offerings, including dating shows Spy Date and Love at Third Sight, redefining romance by exploring love’s unexpected sparks in the later chapters of life, trivia-based game show Smart Face, talent competition Da Next, street game Intuition, reality competition Stand-Up Warrior and the shiny floor game show The Best of All.

New Seasons of Abot Hameiri-Created Series Coming in Brazil, Germany, India, Croatia & Many Other Territories in 2025

Dori Media Group (DMG), the studio behind such hits as Losing Alice, Lalola, Rebelde, The New Black, Ciega a Citas and Dumb, has sold and renewed its hit unscripted format Power Couple in numerous global territories in the new year, including Brazil, Germany and India, it was announced today by Nadav Palti, CEO & President of Dori Media Group.

Power Couple, which was created by Abot Hameiri, continues to take the world by storm, with original versions of the unscripted relationship series now in more than 20 territories globally, with more than 60 seasons and over 900 episodes produced.

“We always believed Power Couple had all of the elements to be a successful global format, but we are truly thrilled with the reception that this series is now receiving across such a wide array of nations, both big and small,” says Dori’s Palti. “The format, which is available in both celebrity and non-celebrity editions, resonates with local viewers whether it features celebrities or not, and the thirst for more episodes of Power Couple has become nearly insatiable in many territories.”

Power Couple is set to debut its seventh season in Brazil on Record TV in primetime this May, where it will air seven days a week and be simulcast on a digital platform and also available 24-hours a day via live streaming.

A second season is currently in development in India with Aarambh Entertainment and in Germany, a new version of the format that will be known locally as Das Sommerhaus der Normalos, will run on RTL+ during the first quarter of the year. That’s in addition to RTL’s successful nine seasons of the celebrity-version of Power Couple in Germany, where the series goes by the title, Das Sommerhaus der Stars.

In Hungary, the series is set to launch its ninth season for RTL this summer, a sixth season is coming in Bulgaria on NOVA TV and a fifth in Croatia on RTL, as well. Power Couple has also been renewed for a third season by POP TV in Slovenia, following its successful second season, where it garnered a 32% share of the market at 7 p.m. across 20 episodes.

Power Couple quickly became a breakout hit on Videoland in Holland last year, airing as a celebrity edition in its first season and new editions are expected in Sweden, Demark, Finland and Norway. In Romania, the second season of the series on Antena just aired across 24 episodes.

Last year, Dori Media went to MIPCOM with a bounty of new unscripted offerings, including dating shows Spy Date and Love at Third Sight, redefining romance by exploring love’s unexpected sparks in the later chapters of life, trivia-based game show Smart Face, talent competition Da Next, street game Intuition, reality competition Stand-Up Warrior and the shiny floor game show The Best of All

Critically Acclaimed Series’ Sixth Season Returning to Globoplay

Psychological Drama Has Been Remade in Over 20 Territories

Dori Media Group’s critically acclaimed psychological drama In Treatment is set to start production on its sixth season for Brazil’s Globoplay, where it is produced locally by Moonshot and known as Sessão de Terapia, it was announced today by Nadav Palti, CEO & President of Dori Media Group.

Originally titled BeTipul, In Treatment is considered one of the most successful TV format exports in the world and the series has been remade in over 20 territories globally, including the U.S. with HBO Max, Brazil with Globoplay, TV5 in Canada and Japan with Nippon TV. The format was originally created by Sheleg Productions’ award-winning producer Hagai Levi, who is known for Scenes from a Marriage and The Affair

Since 2019, Globo/Globoplay has partnered with Moonshot in Brazil, marking the show’s premiere on Globoplay and GNT, the cable channel that has aired the series since its inception. And Sessão de Terapia has consistently been one of the most-watched series on both platforms.

“We are thrilled that Globoplay and Moonshot are bringing ‘In Treatment’ back to the Brazlian audience that has enjoyed this special series for many seasons now,” says Dori Media’s Palti. “This is a format that continues to resonate across the globe and we’re excited that others are looking to launch and produce further seasons in the new year, as well.”

“The challenge of being innovative and creating complex, passionate characters within the delicate field of therapy and a globally successful franchise is something we embrace with joy and reflects our artistic mission,” says Roberto d’Avila, Moonshot CEO.

No other country has produced more seasons of In Treatment than Brazil, which is set to begin production on its sixth season in late 2025. The Brazilian series is directed by Selton Mello (I’m Still Here), who has also starred as ‘Caio’ since the 4th season, produced and adapted by Moonshot’s d’Avila and original scripts by Jacqueline Vargas. Since its 3rd season, Moonshot has developed original characters and stories, revitalizing the franchise with a new therapist in its fourth season.

Sessão de Terapia is known for its unique and compelling storytelling, offering endless possibilities for introducing new characters and narratives. A prime example of its creative flexibility came in the fourth season, which featured Morena Baccarin (HomelandDeadpool) in her first-ever Portuguese performance, playing a pivotal role as Caio’s supervisor. The following season continued this tradition by passing the supervisory role to Rodrigo Santoro (300Love Actually), further enriching the show’s dynamic storytelling.

Many adaptations of the series have also won critical acclaim globally, including the U.S. version of In Treatment, which saw Dianne West win a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series (2008).

Abot Hameiri-Created Series Returning with new seasons in Germany, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia and Romania

Power Couple expands to new territories Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Norway

Dori Media Group (DMG), the studio behind such global hits as Losing Alice, Lalola, The New Black, Ciega a Citas and Dumb, has renewed and added new territories for unscripted format Power Couple in numerous global territories, it was announced today by Nadav Palti, CEO & President of Dori Media Group.

Power Couple, which was created by Abot Hameiri, has been renewed in Germany, Romania, Hungary, Croatia and Solvenia for additional seasons. Additionally, the series will be expanding to new territories as its being adapted by Banijay Nordic in Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Norway.

Power Couple, which first debuted in 2014 in Israel on Reshet, has now been sold to over 15 global territories including Brazil, Mexico, India and South Africa. The series follows both celebrity and non-celebrity couples that move into one villa together and compete in a fast-paced series that determines who is the Power Couple!

In Germany, where the hit series is known locally as “Das Sommerhaus der Stars,” it has been renewed for a ninth season on RTL. And in addition to the celebrity version in Germany, RTL will also be producing a spin-off with non-celebrity couples. The spin-off will run on RTL+.

In Hungary, Power Couple has been renewed for an 8th season by RTL and it’s also been renewed for a 5th season in Croatia by RTL. POP TV has signed on for a third season in Slovenia and after a strong debut in Romania, the series is set to return for a second season on Antena.

“We are thrilled that our hit format Power Couple continues to drive large primetime audiences to our network and streaming partners across the world,” says Palti. “The success is so big that Germany is now producing two seasons and we are expanding across the Nordics. This series puts couples to the test and captivates viewers of all ages wanting to see who truly is the Power Couple.”

Power Couple is different from all other reality shows in that its rules and rationale are made up of something we can all experience together with the participants – relationships. Couples participate on Power Couple in order to check and empower their relationship. Not only to test how much they really know about each other, but how much money they are willing to bet on it.

Power Couple is a format about relationships, and all in its mantle has one purpose – to allow each couple to examine his or her relationship. All couples live, some for the first time, in one house, for a long period of time, with other couples and for the first time can see what their relationship looks like in the eyes of other couples and also learn from the other couples around them things about their relationship.

The couples on Power Couple participate in tasks that they cannot prepare for; the tasks do not measure physical ability or knowledge. The relationship is the basis of any task that examines different aspects of the relationship. In order to win, they need to function together in the relationship, work as a team, and know each other.

Earlier this year, Dori Media announced it was selling both the new Spanish-language episodes of Lalola, which debuted in February on ViX, as well as the series’ format rights to global territories outside of Latin America and the U.S. Lalola, which is produced by Dori Media International, is a modern-day remake of the hit International Emmy-nominated romantic comedy that originally aired in 2008-2009.

Critically Acclaimed Remake of International Emmy-nominated Series Makes Big Splash with Debut on ViX, Its First Original Comedy Series

Dori Media Group (DMG), the studio behind such global hits as Losing Alice, The New Black, Ciega a Citas, Rebelde Way and Dumb, is launching international sales outside the U.S. and Latin America of ViX Original romantic comedy Lalola, which successfully premiered on the platform last month, it was announced today by Nadav Palti, CEO & President of Dori Media Group.

Dori Media is selling both the new Spanish-language episodes of Lalola, which debuted February 2 on ViX, the first large-scale streaming service to exclusively serve the Spanish-speaking world, as well as the format rights to the international TV marketplace.

Lalola, which is produced by Dori Media International, is a modern-day remake of the hit International Emmy-nominated romantic comedy that originally aired in 2008-2009. Dori Media International Chief Content Officer Joshua Mintz and Ana Celia Urquidi are the show’s producers, while Francisco Franco Alba and Ana Lorena Pérez Ríos directed the series.

“The highly anticipated return of ‘Lalola’ has been met with open arms by both critics and ViX’s audience alike,” says Dori’s Palti. “Our new modern take on this beloved romantic comedy series is clearly resonating and we are now excited to offer these original Spanish-language episodes, as well as the format rights, to the rest of the international TV marketplace.”

“This is Dori Media International’s first production in Mexico, and we are all very proud of the result and ‘Lalola’s’ proven potential for the international market,” says Dori’s Mintz. “We are thrilled with the amazing reception that the series has received, which is a testament to our great IP and a successful adaption and production.”

Lalola tells the story of how a successful man, who thinks he can use women to satisfy his ego, wakes up one day in the body of a woman, then seeks to reverse this and return to his original body while trying to protect his job and relationships with his daughter, mother, and best friend. In this new reality, Lalola will suffer the consequences of machismo and must re-learn everything, from walking to navigating her way to work and, above all, the true meaning of love.

Lalola also features Carmen Madrid, Pamela Almanza, Majo Pérez, Chirstopher Aguilasocho, Alfonso Borbolla, Epy Velez, Lumi Cavazos and Francisca Aronsson.

Late last year, Dori Media began international sales for two of its big new action-drama series, Amia and Indal. Amia, which was filmed in Uruguay, was inspired by the terror attacks of 1992 on the Israeli embassy and 1994 against the Argentinian Jewish community. Indal is an action-packed series that follows the kidnapping of a police officer by a group of Ethiopian Israeli youth.
