Dori Media Group (“DMG”), the international media company active in the field of television, with a focus on production, distribution, broadcasting and merchandising of daily dramas, Telenovela and entertainment shows, announces that the first two episodes of the hit series “Shtisel” will be screened in London on 14 November, 2013 as part of the UK Jewish Film Festival.
“Shtisel”, created by Ori Elon and Yonatan Indurski, produced by Jonathan Aroch and Dikla Barkai for Yes and distributed worldwide by Dori Media, is a family comedy about an ultra religious family living in Jerusalem’s Mea Shearim neighbourhood. It follows the story of Akiva, a shy yeshiva boy and his closely-knit, argumentative family. Akiva meets an older widow – played by acclaimed actress Ayelet Zurer – just as the family is trying to marry him off, while his widowed father Shulem has a little fling of his own.
The series has won high acclaim among Israeli critics, with Mako, Israel’s fastest growing news and entertainment website, hailing it as a “simply excellent series” and Achbar Ha’ir, Tel Aviv’s weekly cultural magazine, describing “Shtisel” as “a magical world which can easily attract any viewer.”
