The Company and Israel’s Largest Entertainment Company Begin International Production and Development Partnership to Independently Produce Four Pilots per Year
Los Angeles, Calif. – March 4, 2014 – Charlie Ebersol and Mike Lanigan’s, The Company has teamed up with international entertainment group Dori Media to form a new joint production and financing venture to develop, produce and distribute unscripted and scripted programming within the international market.
The partnership will develop and produce four new pilots per year for distribution both overseas and in the United States. The selected pilots will be sourced from a combination of internally developed projects and inbound third party concepts from both Israel and the United States. Dori Media will produce in Israel, Argentina, and Asia, while The Company will produce in the U.S. with Dori Media distributing formats worldwide.
The deal will see Ebersol’s The Company grow its production slate globally, with the goal of creating an international production pipeline that will enable rights retention for creative producers both in the United States and Israel.
Dori Media, an international group of media companies, located in Israel, Switzerland, Argentina and the U.S., produces and distributes TV and New Media content, owns & broadcasts various TV channels and operates video-content internet sites. They are currently Israel’s #1 international sales company for television properties.
“We have truly found a world class partner in Dori Media and with this collaboration, we look forward to exponentially growing our business,” said Charlie Ebersol, Founder and CEO of The Company. “This venture allows us to create a vehicle for innovative producers to bring their project to life while being protected both creatively and financially.”
“Our respect for Charlie and The Company starts with his vision for changing the world through entertainment and his ability to positively move the needle,” said Nadav Palti, CEO and President of Dori Media. “This partnership is a savvy way to build on the working relationships we’ve established as well as the collective strengths of our two groups. We have had a winning presence in the international market for quite some time and I am positive that the experience we’ve been building over the years will be a great asset to this partnership.”
“We are excited about the potential of this business partnership knowing the experience and creativity that both parties bring to the deal will allow us to develop and produce interesting formats for the international market,” said Jonathan Paran, CEO of Dori Media Darset.
This will be the first international business venture for Ebersol. The Company has seen success in the U.S. with unscripted formats on major cable and broadcast networks and well as its burgeoning feature film business. Setting up an international production unit is a natural next step for Ebersol and this strategic partnership will allow The Company to secure a stronger foothold in the global market.
