Dori Media Group (“DMG”, “the Company”) announces that it has signed a co-production agreement with Pol-ka Productions for new romantic comedy “Esperanza Mia (My Lovely Hope)”. DMG, which also has exclusive worldwide distribution rights for this daily series, is promoting the format at the 2015 MIPTV Media Market.
The show, starring Lali Esposito and Mariano Martinez, has already gone on air on Argentina’s Canal 13 and has achieved excellent ratings. During the first week on air, “Esperanza Mia” achieved an average rating of 16.4 with a 20% audience share. It was the second most seen programme in its time slot, behind the long running telenovela “1001 nights”. It also beat the launch of the second season of “Master Chef” and “Rising Star’s” pre-launch programme. Canal 13 has already bought 120 episodes of the show.
Michal Nashiv, CEO of Dori Media Contenidos, commented: “Following the success we shared with “Sos Mi Vida”, we are delighted to be cooperating with Pol-ka Productions once again. Judging by the excellent ratings “Esperanza Mia” has already achieved, we are sure that the show will be a huge hit. Dori Media has been producing in Argentina for many years and we hope this latest deal with Pol-ka Productions will be the first of several DMG productions to be launched in the country during 2015.”
“Esperanza Mia (My Lovely Hope)” is a romantic comedy about the forbidden love between Julia (Hope) and Tomas. Julia’s mother dies from a fatal illness contracted due to pollution in the factory where she worked. On her deathbed, she asks Julia to hunt down the owner of the factory, but Julia is persecuted while trying to do just that. She escapes to Buenos Aires and takes shelter in a convent, pretending to be a novice named Hope. There she meets a priest named Tomas and love between them grows. Unfortunately, Julia does not know that Tomas is none other than the brother of the man responsible for her mother’s death, the man she swore to bring to justice.
