“Asfur,” meaning “bird” in Arabic, is Jerusalem slang for a loser, someone with no prospects. The series takes place in an industrial area among garages, in a small valley where a neglected piece of land lies with three abandoned bus carcasses at its center. Seemingly a junkyard, it is in fact the “kingdom” of our heroes, street guys, hopeless underdogs, who decided to quit the rat race. In their small kingdom, inside the refurbished buses, they live without taxes, bank accounts, social security, or any nonsense. They work off the books, smoke, party, and sway on life’s hammock… until the rope is cut.

A modern adaptation of the Biblical tale of Saul and David, taking place in an abandoned military base. Following escalations throughout the West Bank, a paratrooper platoon under Shaul’s command is sent to reconstruct an old military base, abandoned twenty years earlier.

The base is named “Hammam” after an ancient bathhouse site located in the nearby wadi, where a Bedouin tribe has claimed the ruins of an ancient castle. A series of mysterious events lead Shaul to believe the base is cursed, as he slowly loses his sanity.

Finally, he loses touch with reality and is replaced by Dudi – the platoon’s humblest, most introverted soldier – who soon falls prey to the curse himself.

Season 2 responds to all these questions and presents new characters. A locked up doctor for a crime he didn´t commit. A prisoner who rules the prison in a bloody way. An official corrupted by the system. A prisoner – almost teen – who might begin a revolution. With offices in Switzerland, Israel, Argentina, Spain and Asia, DMD does not only distribute its own shows but were also chosen by other production companies and format owners to act as their distributor in the international market.

The bands we knew are not form yet. The prisoners from season 1 (like César, James, Morcilla and Pedro) integrate others factions under the orders of different referents. The Borges end up breaking in to the prison but they are far away to rule it. Mario has no power. Diosito is an innocent kid yet.

In the middle of all of this, we found Patricio. A high-class doctor who doesn´t belong to this violent environment. The only one capable of saving lifes among so much death. The alliances that The Borges an Patricio create, is the only thing that might lean on the balance to any side in their war against El Sapo, the prisoner who rules the prison at his whim.
