New Seasons of Abot Hameiri-Created Series Coming in Brazil, Germany, India, Croatia & Many Other Territories in 2025
Dori Media Group (DMG), the studio behind such hits as Losing Alice, Lalola, Rebelde, The New Black, Ciega a Citas and Dumb, has sold and renewed its hit unscripted format Power Couple in numerous global territories in the new year, including Brazil, Germany and India, it was announced today by Nadav Palti, CEO & President of Dori Media Group.
Power Couple, which was created by Abot Hameiri, continues to take the world by storm, with original versions of the unscripted relationship series now in more than 20 territories globally, with more than 60 seasons and over 900 episodes produced.
“We always believed Power Couple had all of the elements to be a successful global format, but we are truly thrilled with the reception that this series is now receiving across such a wide array of nations, both big and small,” says Dori’s Palti. “The format, which is available in both celebrity and non-celebrity editions, resonates with local viewers whether it features celebrities or not, and the thirst for more episodes of Power Couple has become nearly insatiable in many territories.”
Power Couple is set to debut its seventh season in Brazil on Record TV in primetime this May, where it will air seven days a week and be simulcast on a digital platform and also available 24-hours a day via live streaming.
A second season is currently in development in India with Aarambh Entertainment and in Germany, a new version of the format that will be known locally as Das Sommerhaus der Normalos, will run on RTL+ during the first quarter of the year. That’s in addition to RTL’s successful nine seasons of the celebrity-version of Power Couple in Germany, where the series goes by the title, Das Sommerhaus der Stars.
In Hungary, the series is set to launch its ninth season for RTL this summer, a sixth season is coming in Bulgaria on NOVA TV and a fifth in Croatia on RTL, as well. Power Couple has also been renewed for a third season by POP TV in Slovenia, following its successful second season, where it garnered a 32% share of the market at 7 p.m. across 20 episodes.
Power Couple quickly became a breakout hit on Videoland in Holland last year, airing as a celebrity edition in its first season and new editions are expected in Sweden, Demark, Finland and Norway. In Romania, the second season of the series on Antena just aired across 24 episodes.
Last year, Dori Media went to MIPCOM with a bounty of new unscripted offerings, including dating shows Spy Date and Love at Third Sight, redefining romance by exploring love’s unexpected sparks in the later chapters of life, trivia-based game show Smart Face, talent competition Da Next, street game Intuition, reality competition Stand-Up Warrior and the shiny floor game show The Best of All.
