The awards winning screenwriter will join Dori Media at MIPTV 2019

Dori Media Group (“DMG”, “the Company”) announces that Marta Betoldi will be supporting the Company’s Sales team to contribute with new formats, as part of Dori Media’s strategy to diversify and expand its portfolio.

Marta Betoldi, the very famous Argentinean actress and a well-known awards winner screenwriter will join Dori Media at MIPTV. She is the author of a number of successful scripted formats such as Ciega a Citas (Date Blind), Esperanza Mia and Las Estrellas (5 Stars), which Dori Media distributes globally.

Marta Betoldi is a real expert when it comes to creating characters that are close in spirit and inspired by ordinary people, who are not afraid to show their vulnerabilities more than their strengths. Her stories are framed in a modern interpretation of a romantic comedy and dramedy. Together with Dori Media she will bring to the market new formats, fresh thinking and innovative ideas, underpinned by her extensive experience and deep understanding of the audience worldwide.

Graduated from the Literature at the University of Buenos Aires, Marta Betoldi began acting at an early age and her career as playwright started with some big titles premiering in London, Paris, Mexico, Buenos Aires and Miami. The arsenal of her awards and nominations spans worldwide and brings a rich variety of formats and adaptations.

At MIPTV 2019, Dori Media’s partners will be updated on Ciega a Citas and will have the opportunity to learn directly from Marta, what the next Season will bring and how the main character will change 10 years later, as the production is ramping up for release.

Ciega Citas (120 Eps X 60 Min), originally produced in Argentina in 2009 became an instant success and was sold to 40 territories with local adaptations in Chile, Germany, Poland, Russia, China, Lithuania, Hungary and Spain. Ciega Citas won the Martin Fierro award in 2009 for Best Telecomedy and Best Actress, the Rose D’or 2010 for Best Series and Telenovela, and was nominated in the International Emmy Awards 2010 for Best Telenovela, including its Spanish remake in 2014.

Esperanza Mia (180 Eps X 45 Min), created in 2015, was sold to over a dozen territories and received 11 nominations at the Martin Fierro Awards in 2016 including Best Daily Drama.

Las Estrellas (120 Eps X 60 Min) created in 2017 won the Martin Fierro in 2018 for Best Daily Series, Best Actress and Best Actor.
