Based on Dori Media’s original crime drama format “Dumb”, UFA Serial Drama is producing a second season of “Rampensau” for RTL
Dori Media Group (“DMG”, “the Company”) is pleased to announce the sale of the second season of Rampensau in Germany, and its future broadcast on the RTL streaming platform TV-NOW, with a second broadcast run scheduled on free-to-air channel VOX.
The streaming platform TV NOW is one of RTL Group’s most popular channels. RTL deploys a paid-streaming first strategy whereby series are broadcast via paid-for-streaming first, before shows are re-run on free-to-air channels. It is anticipated that the production of 6 episodes will take place during the summer, after which the entire season will be available on TV-NOW in November, before its second run on VOX in spring 2021.
The original Dumb format, which consists of 3 seasons, was selected to feature at the 2017 Berlin European Film Market festival in the and in the International Panorama of Series Mania 2017. The format has also won major Israeli TV awards, including best daily drama series, best screenplay and best actress in a drama series. All 3 seasons of Dumb reached top 3 status on Israel’s HOT, gaining incredibly high results in the process. 46% of HOT’s subscribers have now watched the series, leading to more than 20 million Video on demand views.
Nadav Palti, CEO & President of Dori Media Group commented: “Following the success of the original format in Israel the ratings for Rampensau’s first season aired on VOX were high and continue to reflect the flexibility of Dori Media’s formats across the genres. The show became Vox’ best Original Production since Red Band Society in the 14-49 Target Group, outperforming the channel’s timeslot average by 23% (14-49). We look forward to collaborating with UFA once again with the second series which we have no doubt will be equally successful.”
Guido Reinhardt, EP Executive Producer, UFA SERIAL DRAMA GmbH commented: “I am very proud and thankful for the chance to produce a second season with an extraordinary cast and extremely ambitious main actress. It is the result of the first season’s success and the great response from our audiences.”
