Seasons 1 and 2 will air in Latin America on Universal TV

Dori Media Group (“DMG” “the Company”)
is pleased to see continued success achieved by the popular “El Marginal” series in Latin America. Season 1 of the award-winning crime drama will return to the screens in Latin America on Universal TV to remind the viewers of the fascinating story of an ex-cop Miguel Di Marco in the San Onofre prison. This precedes the long-awaited premiere of Season 2.

The deal follows the global sales of the series to the US, France, Latin America, UK, Spain, Portugal, Israel, Poland, Turkey, Balkans, and Uruguay. Previously, the crime drama has won three major awards at the most prominent award ceremony for Argentine radio and television, Martin Fierro, including Golden Award, Best Mini-Series & Best Scriptwriters. The show was also awarded Series Mania Festival Grand Prix and 13 awards at the Tato Awards and was nominated for Best Mini-Series and Best Male Actor at the Premios Platino 2019.

The series focuses on the story of Miguel Di Marco, an ex-cop who enters the San Onofre prison under a false identity as a convict. His mission is to infiltrate a gang of prisoners who have kidnapped the daughter of a prominent judge. Miguel must discover the whereabouts of the girl and help set her free. He meets the objective, but someone betrays him, leaving him behind bars with no witnesses who know his true identity. Miguel will soon realize that the only way to save his life and recover his identity is to escape with the help of an unexpected ally, Anna, a social worker in the prison.

Season 2 is a prequel to Season 1 that takes place three years before. The Borges brothers find themselves in the prison and get involved in a war of power with El Sapo, a prisoner who rules San Onofre. Miguel’s alliance with Patricio, a doctor who was detained for a crime he had not committed, is genuinely on edge between life and death. Nadav Palti, CEO of Dori Media, commented: ¨We are excited to see Universal TV, the international channel maximum reference in captivating stories of police drama and persecution, reaffirm their interest in ’El Marginal,’ which is another stunning endorsement of the show’s quality. We are delighted with the rating success of the Season 1, which we fully expect to replicate in this second round, thanks to Universal TV and NBCUniversal International Networks significant presence in broadcasting through a strong portfolio of domestic and international platforms¨.
