New teen series “Cata” joins a growing number of international titles as DMG grows its offering of replicable formats.

Dori Media Group announces that it will present a diverse range of formats at the National Association of Television Program Executives (NATPE) 2016, with new teen series “Cata” joining the international hit “Esperanza Mia”, a co production from Dori Media and Pol-ka Producciones that was sold to countries including Spain, Poland, Indonesia, Israel and Bolivia. Romantic comedy “Ciega a Citas” with 6 different remakes so far and docu- reality “It Girls” will also be presented. NATPE is the international “must-attend” multiplatform video marketplace and will be held in Miami on January 19th – 21st, 2016.

Cata and the mystery of the sphere is a teen musical series that follows the loves, hopes, ambitions and rivalries of Catalina and a group of teens attending a performing arts school. Life in the small town is transformed by the sudden arrival of two identical boys from another dimension, completely devoid of human emotions. With her family and friends, Cata helps the twins to conceal their secret identities, and she guides them through their emotional awakening as they discover love, make friends and become caught up in the passion for music and dance. Soon, Cata will realize that her primary mission is to keep the twins undetected from a mysterious organization that is determined to get hold of them and their secret.

“Esperanza Mia” is steadily growing its international reach having been sold to Israel’s Kids Channel and Viva, FMN Indonesia, Bolivia’s ATB channel, Poland’s Polsat channel, Spain’s Planeta Junior channel with further sales in Vietnam and Slovenia.

“Esperanza Mia” has already achieved excellent ratings in Argentina where it went on air in 2015 on Canal 13. The format has consistently been the highest performing show in its prime time 9pm time slot since its debut, and during its first week on air, “Esperanza Mia” achieved an average rating of 16.4 with a 20% audience share. Canal 13 has already bought 180 episodes of the show. In addition to this, the series has launched live shows, 60 of which have already sold out across Argentina. “Esperanza Mia” merchandise has also taken off with the sale of T-shirts, CDs and other consumer goods highlighting the show’s popularity

 

“Esperanza Mia” is a romantic comedy about the forbidden love between Julia (Hope) and Tomas. Julia’s mother dies from a fatal illness contracted due to pollution in the factory where she worked. On her deathbed, she asks Julia to hunt down the owner of the factory, but Julia is persecuted while trying to do just that. She escapes to Buenos Aires and takes shelter in a convent, pretending to be a nun named Hope. There she meets a priest named Tomas and love between them grows. Unfortunately, Julia does not know that Tomas is none other than the brother of the man responsible for her mother’s death, the man she swore to bring to justice.

Docu-Reality

Every girl wants to be an It Girl! She always wears the trendiest clothes, hangs out in all the right places and is the first to know what the next trend is. This docu-reality follows the lives of 4 beautiful and enviable girls in their early twenties that share every detail of their lives with their hundreds of thousands of followers on the social networks. The 4 girls join forces in order to build a fashion and lifestyle site, which is a platform of blogs that will determine the newest and coolest trends for young people in Israel. The uniqueness of the format is the symbiosis created between the TV show and their real life.

After becoming an instant hit in its native Argentina where it won the prestigious Martín Fierro and Rose d’Or awards as well as receiving an International Emmy Nomination, the Spanish version of the show also enjoyed great success, increasing its time slot’s rating on Mediaset España’s Cuatro channel by 40%. In 2015, the format was also sold to France, Russia, China, Chile, Poland and Germany.

The show is the story of a woman who is unconsciously trapped in a love triangle. Lucia believes that she loves the presenter of a radio programme, but she does not realise that the true love of her life is on the other side of the screen. The love which is not good for her, blinds her and the love that could make her happy is not even on her radar. But since she made a bet with her mother that she can find a boyfriend by her sister’s wedding, Lucia makes every effort to meet as many men as possible. At least statistically, one of them will have to win her heart.
