Will be launched on July, 17th complete in Flow and on July, 18th on Telefe.
More than three decades after the AMIA bombing, Telefe and Flow present AMIA: The End of Truth, a powerful fiction series inspired by real events to create a contemporary action story where the lines between truth and manipulation blur. The production is an international production by Dori Media and Yair Dori, with a cast and crew from multiple countries, and was filmed with the help of local production company Cimarrón in Uruguay and Argentina.
The story follows Diego, a Mossad agent whose sister was killed in the attack on the Israeli Embassy in Buenos Aires. In his search for answers, he teams up with Gisela, a local journalist, and together they delve into a world of espionage, intelligence agencies, arms trafficking, and state secrets. A territory where justice and revenge become indistinguishable, and where certainties fade. The journey they embark on will ultimately lead them to reexamine their connection to their families and even their concept of identity.
With a fast-paced narrative and high visual impact, the series combines archival footage with high-quality original production, creating a fully immersive experience. As the plot unfolds, viewers will be confronted with unresolved questions: What was true and what was covered up? What interests moved the pieces? Where does memory end and fiction begin? The series will inundate viewers with questions that no one has been able to answer in almost 30 years.
. The series was created by Givon Snir (also showrunner) and Shuky Gur, and directed by Uruguayan filmmaker Guillermo Rocamora, recognized for award-winning dramas such as Solo (Ibero-American First Film Award at the 2013 Miami Film Festival) and the short film Buen Viaje, selected at the Cannes and Bilbao film festivals.
Israeli actor Michael Aloni plays Diego, Malena Sánchez is the journalist Gisela, and the cast includes Alfonso Tort, César Bordón, and Jameel Khoury, among other talents from Israel, Argentina, and Uruguay.
AMIA: The End of Truth will be launched in Flow on July 17th Thursday complete and on Telefe on July 18th Friday.
A series that challenges, moves, and shakes, about a wound that remains open.
Nadav Palti, Dori Media CEO commented: “About four years ago, during a routine conversation with Yair Dori, where we often discuss future ideas, the important, untold fiction story of the AMIA bombing came up. Until 9/11, it was the largest civilian terror attack in the Americas. We felt it was essential to tell this story. It’s a sensitive and profound topic that, sadly, remains just as relevant today. Unlike most productions, we started without a broadcaster. Our deep belief in the project and the importance of this story drove us to move full speed ahead. As with any major production, especially on such a topic, we faced many challenges along the way. But those only strengthened and sharpened us and made us more professional. I’m grateful to the investors who joined us along the way, to the showrunner, creators, director, the Cimarrón team, to the incredible actors and I sincerely thank Telefe and Flow for recognizing the potential”
