Dori Media to present a range of formats including romantic comedy “Ciega a Citas (Date Blind)”, “Power Couple”, a successful international reality format, as well as teen formats “Boys vs Girls” and “The Surfers”, street game show “Billy the Board” and “Famous Face”.
Dori Media Group announces that it will present a diverse range of new formats at Mipcom 2014, which will be held on October 13-16, 2014, in Cannes, France.
“Ciega a Citas” is a Spanish romantic comedy, which tells the story of a single woman who bets with her mother that she will be able to find a genuine boyfriend before her sister’s wedding. Already a hit in its native Argentina where it won the prestigious Martín Fierro and Rose d’Or awards, the Spanish version of the show has enjoyed great success. The show has increased its time slot’s rating on Mediaset España’s Cuatro in Spain by 40%, and Big Bang Media has now produced 140 episodes of the show for the Spanish audiencedespite only 120 episodes originally being available.
Exciting new teen formats will also feature on Dori Media’s Mipcom library for 2014. The new daily drama “The Surfers”, about a group of adolescent surfers who set up a surfing club on a deserted and cursed beach, will be presented, along with the teen reality show “Boys vs Girls”. “The Surfers” is produced by Teddy Productions and Dori Media Darset for the Children’s Channel, with “Boys vs Girls” also being produced by Dori Media Darset for the Children’s Channel.
Dori Media will also be presenting the brand new street game shows “Billy the Board”, a revolutionary format that allows people to earn money while waiting for the bus or train, as well as “Famous Face”, a spin-off of the hugely successful international format “Smart Face” that has seen around 2,000 episodes broadcasted in more than 30 countries including Germany, Spain, Argentina, Brazil and Portugal.
“Power Couple” will also be exhibited after its huge success on SIC Portugal with a 48% prime time increase in ratings despite strong competition.

Couples’ emotions, humor, tensions and love come into play. 8 couples move into a villa for 6 weeks and each week they’ll have to face extreme challenges that will test how well they really know each other. In this game, couples who are confident in themselves and believe in their relationship can turn that knowledge into a lot of money, the winning couple’s relationship determines the size of the prize. Power Couple is a new and different experience in the reality show genre, bringing a lot of humor, emotions and love to the screen and not only intrigues and conspiracies! “Power Couple” improved Channel 10 Israel’s average time slot ratings by 81% and SIC Portugal’s ratings by 48% against heavy competition. The show has been sold to Portugal, Brazil, France, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Germany, and Finland.
“Boys vs. Girls” is a comic and playful reality show for teenagers about boys and girls… and everything in between. Two teams – the boys and the girls – compete against each other throughout the summer to try to prove which is the stronger sex. Over the course of the game, the boys and girls discover things they didn’t know about the other sex. It’s going to be a funny, flirtatious, challenging and also romantic summer… at the end of which only one team will be named the Rulers of Summer.
“The Surfers” is a new daily tween drama about a group of cool adolescent surfers who set up a surfing club on a deserted and cursed beach. One day, they are notified that they are to be evacuated from the beach, their second home, and they try to do everything in their power to change this life changing decision. While fighting for their life, the group is drawn into an adventure beyond their imagination. Will they be able to alter their destiny? Hot bikinis, sun kissed hair and joyful youth are not all these youngsters have to face. They are also forced to cope with the difficult pains of youth: rivalry and jealousy, friendship and betrayal & identity and belonging.
“Billy the Board” Where ever there is a board Billy can be there! Train stations, bus stations, Metro… Many places where people sit and kill time while waiting. “Billy the Board” is a street game show that enables people to have fun and earn money while waiting. With simple animation technology, the station billboard turns into a living, speaking entity. Billy approaches a person waiting in the station and offers him the chance to play the game until his bus/train arrives. The contestant has to answer multiple choice questions and is allowed to make one mistake during the game. If the bus/train arrives while he is still in the game, he gets the money accumulated till that point and goes on his way a few dollars richer.
“Famous Face” Like the international huge success “Smart Face”, with around 2000 episodes worldwide, “Famous Face” is a trivia game show that takes place on the street, where a couple of contestants are asked questions but are not allowed to answer themselves. The contestants are introduced to a spinning roulette of celebrities. Upon receiving a question the roulette spins until it stops on three celebrities, two of whom have the wrong answer and one has the correct answer. Based on the question, the contestants must choose which celebrity they think has the right answer. They must explain their choice in detail. The choice is based on the content of the question, the area it deals with and the things they know about every celebrity. After making their choice, a pre-recorded video is played and reveals whether or not they chose correctly.
“Mission is Possible” A fun and fresh original Candid Camera game show. It’s quite simple: a person hops on a train and is offered to participate in a game. Once the game starts, the player has to expose an undercover operative among 50 people on the train. The player has one chance to figure out who the person is before arriving at the next station and if successful, the money is his! The player receives one hint to help him start his search. Now it is all about the player’s creativity, verbal skills and improvisational abilities. He can also buy clues for money or by completing various tasks. The game can also be played in a basketball court, amusement park, gyms, restaurants, supermarkets, etc.
