Dori Media Group announces that it has sold Abot Hameiri’s hit reality TV format “Power Couple” to Rede Record in Brazil. The Brazilian network will broadcast the first season of “Power Couple” in 2015.
This follows the sale of the first full season of “Power Couple” to the SIC Channel in Portugal in April this year, where the show was produced by Fremantle Media Portugal. The SIC Channel subsequently enjoyed a 48% increase in its prime time ratings, despite strong competition. “Power Couple” was also recently sold to Shine Nordics, the largest production group in the Nordic region.
“Power Couple”, created by Abot Hameiri, one of the leading production houses in the Israeli television market, is a reality format where eight couples face extreme challenges that test how well they really know each other. It has already proved to be a huge hit, both in its home market of Israel and internationally. In Israel, the format improved Channel 10’s average time slot ratings by 81% during its airing and a second season has already been ordered by the channel.
