Abot Hameiri’s “Power Couple” format improved Channel 10 Israel’s average time slot ratings by 81% during its airing and a second season has already been ordered by the channel
Dori Media Group (“DMG”, “the Company”), the international media company active in the field of television, with a focus on production, distribution, broadcasting and merchandising of daily dramas, Telenovela and entertainment shows, announces that it has sold the first full season of “Power Couple” to the SIC Channel in Portugal. The show will be produced by FreMantle Media Portugal, which is headed by Frederico Almeida.
“Power Couple” is a new reality format where eight couples face extreme challenges that will test how well they really know each other. The format has already proved to be a huge hit in its domestic market, where it is now Channel 10’s leading show in the 35-44 demographic.
The show was created by Abot Hameiri, which is one of the leading production houses in the Israeli television market. Abot Hameiri is responsible for producing a large portion of the Israeli prime time broadcast line up, which includes the Israeli versions of international shows such as: “X Factor”; “Survivor”; “Beauty and the Geek” and “The Bachelor”.
In addition to this sale to Portugal, the Company is in advanced talks to sell the show to networks from USA, France, Netherlands, Italy and Spain.
