Follows the recent sale to China’s Croton Media and huge success in Latin America and Spain
Dori Media Group (“DMG”, “the Company”) announces that its daily romantic comedy “Ciega a Citas (Date Blind)” is being adapted for the Russian market. Russkoe Film Company has already begun shooting the show and it is set to go on air on the Russia 1 channel at the start of the 2015-2016 TV season.
“Ciega a Citas” has already been sold to over 40 territories internationally. The show was remade for the Spanish market where it enjoyed great ratings, increasing its time slot’s rating on Mediaset España’s Cuatro channel by 40%. As a result, more episodes of the Spanish version were produced compared to the original format. DMG is also currently working with Croton Media, China’s largest TV series producer, to develop the show for the Chinese market.
Nadav Palti, CEO & President of Dori Media Group commented: “This deal with Russkoe Film Company marks DMG’s latest sale to Russia and further highlights how this award-winning format can be easily adapted to suit a range of international audiences. Judging by the success “Ciega a Citas” has already enjoyed across Latin America and Spain, we are confident that the show will also become a huge hit in Russia.”
“Ciega a Citas” tells the story of Lucía, a woman who overhears her mother making a bet with her younger sister that she won’t be able to bring a real boyfriend to her sister’s wedding. Lucía sets out to find a genuine loving boyfriend, knowing all too well that she has only 258 days at her disposal until her sister’s wedding day. The show was co-produced by Dori Media and Rosstoc and has won the prestigious Martín Fierro and Rose d’Or awards.
